History

According to ancient Hindu Mythology, Goddess Parvati created Lord Ganesha by scrubbing her skin with sandalwood paste and scraping off the dead skin, and breathing life into its slough to create him. Sandalwood paste is believed to protect the 'Agni Chakra' and cool the mind. In modern India, it is frequently used as 'Tilaka' during traditional prayers and to welcome guests. Sumukha ingredients have been used for centuries to prepare Ayurvedic 'Lepas' to beautify and detoxify the skin. Some of its ingredients, such as licorice, are mentioned in global ancient texts, including Oriental and Ayurveda.
