A famous saying in Japan goes like, ‘By the beauty of her hair alone, a woman can captivate a man.’ The beauty of Japanese women was preserved for a long time until botanicals beautified them. Long, silky, thick hair of Japanese women have a strong botanical history. About ten centuries ago during the Heian era when Japanese women wore silky, thick, black hair draped long to the floor that seemed like a mysterious silken curtain, washing hair was a task. Hair washing was a ritual then & specific day & venue was set aside as the shampoo day of the month. Until this century, shampooing was non-existent ritual & luxurious, nourishing & fragrant botanical ingredients were largely used to beautify the captivating mane of ancient Japanese women.
