Svarasya's Five Dimensions of Beauty - The Background

Five Dimensions of Beauty is a slow beauty framework created by Svarasya's founder Deepti Sehgal. Deepti experienced huge shifts in her skin, body, appearance, energy and mind without any treatments, after adopting a Macrobiotic diet that shed her weight naturally, took her bloat away and cleaned up her skin; yoga practices that toned her body, enhanced and defined her face; Ayurveda principles and rituals that helped maintain her skin, body, weight & moods in last 15 years of living a Yoga & Ayurveda lifestyle. 'Five Dimensions of Beauty' framework' is based on the practices that Deepti learnt and practiced in her Yoga, Ayurveda & Macrobiotic studies that transformed her beautifully, not just at the level of skin, but at the level of body toning, weight maintenance, fitness levels, energy levels and attaining a calm mind.

Slow Beauty Philosophy - 'Five Dimensions of Beauty'

Deepti states, 'I chose to live a disciplined life living beauty in daily life by adopting densely nutritious foods according to my dosha type, regular yoga practices, Ayurveda rituals, skincare, selfcare & Eastern Wellness practices. A state of clear skin and youthful persona reveled itself naturally for me at its peak potential!'. Beauty is a deep-rooted phenomenon, and we all have the potential to live our best version.

Five Dimensions of Beauty is a new understanding of beauty, a SVARASYA concept that reimagined beauty, to support cultivating your best beauty potential from within. This understanding of beauty is beyond skincare and delves deeper into the territory of selfcare & wellness. Five Dimensions of Beauty framework propagates beauty as a way of life where mindful dietary choices help improve skin health, yoga practices improve the functioning internal parameters such as circulation, detoxification, muscular tone, great digestion, proper elimination and deep breathing, that are responsible for creating a clear skin & youthful appearance on the face & in the body. Living by Ayurveda practices & principles help maintain this new cultivated state of beauty from within.

SVARASYA invites you to live this way of life and slowly and steadily cultivate your beauty within!

Dimension 1: Āhāra (आहार) - Nourishment

Āhāra or inner nourishment is SVARASYA's first beauty dimension. This is an important foundation that helps cultivate inner radiance with foods that support beauty, digestion, assimilation and elimination. This dimension is based on the timeless truth, 'You are what you digest and assimilate.' It is about creating a vibrant inner ecosystem where organ systems function in harmony and where the nutrients can flow freely towards skin, hair, eyes, and nails. 'Ahāra' for nourishing beauty from within includes choosing whole and natural foods, ensuring digestive fire works with ease and eating foods with prana (life-force). This dimension is about beauty that begins deep within. Bloated skin, puffiness, dull complexion, fatigued eyes, or nutrient deficiency are simply signs that the digestive system is overworked. Beauty blooms when digestion is light and efficient, nutrients are assimilated. SVARASYA's 'Ahāra' dimension teaches you how to eat for beauty and create cellular radiance that glows through your skin effortlessly.

Dimension 2: - Kāya (काय) - Body Care

Kāya (काय) or body care is SVARASYA's second beauty dimension. This dimension is everything about physical movement, skincare & selfcare to create a cleaner, brighter internal environment, stronger organ health, free flowing circulation, balanced energy, an internal harmony that becomes visible through luminous skin, toned tissues, and a vibrant presence. The body is meant to move, breathe, circulate, expand, contract, twist, and open. Yogic movement is the most profound pathway to this flow. As you transition from twists to backbends, from forward folds to heart-openers, stagnant toxins melt, circulation increases, organs awaken, and life-force begins to flow through the hidden channels of the body. This deep rhythmic movement stimulates elimination of toxins, oxygenates the cells, nourishes every tissue, elevates moods and restores energetic balance. Skincare & selfcare rooted in the wisdom of botanicals including grains, herbs, spices, seeds, florals, clays, beans, lentils, and natural essences, cleanse, purify, balance pH, rejuvenate cells, support collagen production, and enhance skin elasticity & luminosity.

Dimension 3: - Bhāva (भावः) - Emotions

Bhāva (भावः) or emotions is SVARASYA's third beauty dimension. Aging signs on skin are the folds of emotions formed deep within in the tissues of the body. That bump or wrinkle on the skin, that bloat on the face indicates the timeline of emotions being stuck in the layers of skin tissues. Those parallel lines between the eyebrows indicate liver imbalance caused due to excessive anger. Crow’s feet on side of the eyes are a manifestation frustration & lack of happiness. The mouth lines have a connection with deep grief and sadness, hollow cheeks are a sign of sadness that's seated deep within the lungs. In yogic philosophy, the communication between emotions and body (skin) happens through hormones and nervous system. Every negative emotion has the power to disturb hormonal activity by causing disturbances in the nervous system and hormones directly impact the way we look and feel. Excess release of stress hormones such as adrenaline, pushes away blood supply from the skin, creating a sick, dull, washed-out appearance. Another stress hormone cortisol contributes towards inflammatory response to give rise to acne and other inflammatory skin
conditions. Therefore, learning to deal with emotions using yogic tools is Svarasya's third beauty dimension.

Dimension 4: Prāṇā (प्राणः) - Energy

Prāṇā (प्राणः) is SVARASYA's fourth beauty dimension. This dimension is about learning to inhale & exhale the breath of radiance, learning breath regulation, subtle-energy cultivation, and nourishing the inner environment where beauty is built. It is also about calming down the nervous system & bringing it to a state of rest and digest which allows for free flow of energy towards the beauty creating systems of the body. This is the state where skin sensitivities and flare-ups soothe down naturally, inflammatory skin conditions reverse and mind activity slows down. When prana is abundant and flowing freely, the skin glows, the eyes brighten, and the mind softens. When prana is stagnant or depleted, beauty dims.

Dimension 5: Charyā (चर्य) - Rhythmic Cycles in the Nature

Dinacharya • Ritucharya • Moon Cycles

In Ayurveda, Charyā means living in rhythm with the day, with the seasons, and with the moon. It is the art of aligning your body’s inner clock with the cosmic clock. When life flows in harmony with nature’s cycles, prāṇa moves freely, agni remains steady, hormones balance, stress softens, and your skin glows from the inside out.

Charyā in Ayurveda is the foundation of beauty itself.

Dinacharya (दिनचर्या) is the daily rhythm explained in Ayurveda. Ayurveda teaches that the human body runs on a 24-hour rhythm governed by the three doshas. Each time window supports certain physiological functions, and ignoring these cycles leads to imbalances that show up first on the skin. Dinacharya in Ayurveda directly equates to daily beauty discipline.

Ritucharya (ऋतुचर्या) is the seasonal beauty intelligence adopted according to the changing rhythms in in nature. Ayurveda teaches that each season elevates a specific dosha, which directly affects skin health.

Moon Cycles truly lead to the feminine beauty flow. Moon energy rules the water, emotions, hormones and the skin. Just like tides rise and fall, women’s bodies shift with the lunar cycle. The moon governs ojas (the radiance factor), emotional flow and water retention, which are all essential to beauty. During New Moon, the skin may look dull and needs exfoliation, internal cleansing and gentle fasting. In Waxing Moon phase skin benefits with hydration practices. During the Full Moon phase, skin is more sensitive and prone to breakouts and puffiness. In this phase cooling rituals must be practiced. The Waning Moon phase asks for simplifying skincare and focusing on lymph detox.
